The Programme 

We’re passionate about your personal development. We strive to place our Accelerate participants in business-critical roles from day one as we believe by stretching you, we accelerate your development. The placements across the 2 years will be varied and stretching in their nature, meaning that you will be contributing to our cause immediately; drawing on and developing your individual strengths, talents and experience.  Each placement is really varied and throughout the programme, you’ll typically work on key high-profile projects as well as being a team member carrying out BAU/delivery work.  

The rotational aspect of our scheme really develops your cross-organisational knowledge as a participant.  We have a wide range of development opportunities that you will be involved in throughout your placements. We have formal learning skills sessions and workshops in areas such as Relationship Management, Influencing, Presentations skills, Project Management. You will also take part in various engagement activities to broaden your knowledge of CRUK as a whole, such as passion talks and volunteering. Your interactions with senior stakeholders is key to your professional development, so they’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to have exposure to them throughout the programme.

Support For You

You will be heavily supported by your line manager, placement manager, Talent Sponsor, as well as HR and the Talent team – so there will be lots of people to support you throughout the scheme, both from an operational perspective and in terms of your future career.  We know how important peer support is in helping you to succeed, so when you join, you’ll be part of an Accelerate cohort and will also be matched up with a ‘buddy’ from our scheme alumni.  We’ll also be undertaking active workforce and career planning to help you plan your career path at CRUK.
