About Relay for Life
Relay For Life is a year-round team fundraising challenge bringing communities together to beat cancer. Relays take place across the UK, with thousands more around the world.

What's involved
On a summer's day, teams, survivors, carers and volunteers come together to take part in a 24-hour Relay For Life event to celebrate their fundraising. Organised by a dedicated volunteer committee, this community celebration is filled with family fun. Teams set up camp and take turns to walk around the track through the night.

Meet Lorraine
Lorraine was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008.
“I had two operations, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I really appreciated all the treatment I was given. My friend Joyce, who I went through treatment with, found out about Relay For Life and I thought it was a perfect way to help others by raising money for Cancer Research UK.
"We took part in our first Relay in 2009 and have been every year since. I’ve taken part as a Survivor, Team Member and now I’m leading my local Relay as an Event Chair. Relay is a tremendous experience, I’m hooked!"
