About Shine Night Walk Bristol
Shine Night Walk is your chance to light up Bristol’s streets and support life-saving research.
Walk solo and meet friends along the way, or sign up as a group and walk together.
With Shine Night Walk you can choose to fundraise for a cancer cause close to your heart, or simply where the need is greatest.

The route
The Shine Night Walk in Bristol takes you through the heart of the city past some of the city's most iconic landmarks.
Depending on your pace, the 10k route will take between 1.5 - 3 hours.

When you sign up to Shine Night Walk you can pick which research area you want to support, from bowel cancer to children’s cancers or simply where the need is greatest.
Over the last 40 years our work has helped double breast cancer survival, supported the development of radiotherapy and played a role in developing 8 of the world’s top 10 cancer drugs.
Nearly 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime*, but your fundraising can make a difference.
How fundraising helps Bristol
Bristol is home to a paediatric Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre, which we co-fund with the National Institute for Health Research in England. The centre brings together lab scientists and cancer doctors to speed up the flow of ideas and new treatments for cancer from the lab to the clinic.
Cancer Research UK spent over £2 million in 2022/23 in Bristol & Bath.
Research happening right now in Bristol & Bath includes:
- We’re developing new treatments that could stop cancers growing.
- We’re improving our understanding of the long-term impact of head and neck cancer.
- We’re using big data to beat cancer sooner.
- We're developing new ways to help people stop smoking.
